Research profile
I am a mathematician and computational scientist working at the interface of systems biology, quantitative pharmacology and model-informed drug development. I lead the Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) Group at COSBI, where we develop mechanistic models that connect biological mechanisms, drug exposure and heterogeneous patient response.

Translational QSP & PBPK
Mechanistic PK/PD and PBPK models for preclinical-to-clinical translation, target-site exposure, dose selection and model-informed drug development.
Virtual populations & digital twins
Methods for plausible-patient generation, population calibration, uncertainty, patient-specific mechanistic models and virtual clinical trials.
Disease modelling
Applications in tuberculosis and global health, Parkinson’s disease and neurodegeneration, lysosomal storage disorders and other rare or complex diseases.
AI + mechanistic modelling
Hybrid mechanistic/data-driven workflows, surrogate models, scientific knowledge extraction, model construction and reproducible computational research.
Current research direction
My current work focuses on making mechanistic models more useful for translational decisions: representing biological variability through virtual populations, moving toward patient-conditioned digital twins, integrating AI with QSP workflows, and strengthening model credibility for scientific and regulatory use.
